Bitcoin onboarding - release of a comprehensive documentation

Bitcoin is not only a highly fascinating rabbit hole, it is also a huge white pill that gives me hope for our future. In recent years I was frequently asked by friends and clients to help them implement a Bitcoin setup. Before I implemented the setup I tested the entire onboarding process on my own devices and documented the main steps. In doing so, I created a documentation that gives an overview of the main advantages of Bitcoin and discusses different risk scenarios, solutions for key storage and other security considerations.

Release of new website

This is it! I'm excited to announce the launch of my new website! Over the years, I relied on a simple WordPress website for my portfolio, as it was convenient and sufficient while working as a 9-5 software engineer and data scientist. With no urgent need for a personal online presence and limited web development skills, it served its purpose. However, things changed in recent years and I dived deeper into web development. As a Python programmer, I naturally turned to Django for the task, which proved to be an incredibly powerful library.

Data architecture and GUI in the real estate industry

A common problem of businesses in all kinds of industries is the integration of data from different sources into a central database. In one of our recent projects we built an entire data architecture from the scratch for a real estate company. The data architecture included an ETL-pipleline extracting and processing data from APIs and data entry masks, a central database plus a web front-end that allows users to manage the data pipeline and interact with the database - a simple but effective architecture.

Web crawler and price algorithm for tourism company

When it comes to data crawling Python Selenium can be a good choice to crawl data from Javascript websites, which are non-static and require the crawler to navigate through the website. In other words, Selenium allows you to transform your webbrowser into a robot - a tool that can be used in many use cases such as site maintenance, performance analysis, or data crawling. One recent use case for such a browser bot was a data crawler for an Irish tourism company, which allowed the company to extract data from Booking.com and calculate price changes.

Automated industry classification system for business data company Herold

As part of my last projects for an Austrian business data company I developed an automated industry classification system. One of the main problems of the company's database was that the categories and the taxonomy of the industry groups were messy and unstructured. Additionally, for a large chunk of the data the categories were missing. So, the goal of the project was to automatically classify business data into their respective industry categories and to automated the process using a neural network and an automated data stream.
